"There are events that ask you to show up — and events that quietly remind you why you belong somewhere. The CFUW tour has always been the latter. An afternoon that opens private doors, rewards curiosity, and invests every ticket in someone's future."

Why the 2026 CFUW Home & Garden Tour Matters in Newmarket

There are a handful of events each year that remind me, clearly and without hesitation, why I chose to build my life and my career in this corner of York Region. The CFUW Aurora/Newmarket "Come Be Inspired" Home and Garden Tour is among them.

The Canadian Federation of University Women has been running this tour as their largest annual fundraiser for years. You can learn more about the national organization and its advocacy through the CFUW official website. Every ticket — general or boxed lunch — goes directly to post-secondary scholarships for young women in this community. The young women who will go on to build careers in medicine, law, architecture, education. The daughters and granddaughters of the very families who walk these homes.

When New Doors Group was invited to sponsor one of the properties on this year's tour, there was no conversation required. The answer was immediately yes.

The Fairway Sanctuary, Newmarket

Fully Renovated Executive Residence

The Fairway Sanctuary is one of those renovations that reminds you how much the best ones are really acts of restraint. Nothing has been added simply because it could be. Every room has been considered. Every finish arrives at the same quiet conclusion: this space was designed for people who have moved past impressing anyone and simply want to live well.

The transformation is complete — from the primary spaces through to a state-of-the-art home theatre that more than a few guests will linger in far longer than they planned. The property carries the kind of settled confidence that only comes when craft and intention align across every room.

I will be at the Fairway Sanctuary on the day of the tour. If you are coming through, please say hello.

"The renovation did not simply update this property — it reoriented it. There is a difference between a home that has been refreshed and one that has been genuinely reimagined. The Fairway Sanctuary belongs in the second category."

Grace's Note

"When I walk the Fairway Sanctuary, what stays with me is not any single room — it is the consistency of the decisions made throughout. Renovations of this standard are uncommon in any market. Come and see it for yourself on June 14th."

What This Newmarket Home Tour Reveals About Local Real Estate

One of the quieter gifts of an afternoon like this — separate from the pleasure of the tour itself — is what it shows you about the Newmarket and York Region property landscape when you pay close attention.

The homes on the CFUW tour are not simply expensive. They are considered. Maintained. Invested in over time by owners who understood that a property responds to the standard of care it receives. That distinction matters enormously in a market where buyers at every price tier are increasingly discerning.

Whatever your own home's position — whether you are planning to hold it for another decade or beginning to think about what comes next — walking properties like these has a way of sharpening your sense of where you stand.

Why the CFUW Home & Garden Tour Belongs on Your Calendar

Not every community event is worth rearranging a Sunday for. This one is.

01

Private Access to Exceptional Properties

Five homes that would not otherwise open their doors — across four distinct York Region communities. The self-guided format lets you move at your own pace and linger where it matters.

02

Every Ticket Funds a Scholarship

The CFUW has directed every dollar of tour proceeds toward post-secondary scholarships for local young women. The afternoon is beautiful. The purpose behind it is lasting.

03

A Real Sense of What York Region Luxury Looks Like

Not curated for a camera. Not staged for a listing shoot. These homes are lived in and loved — which makes them a far more honest benchmark for anyone navigating this market.

04

The Gardens Are Worth the Trip Alone

The homes are the headline. But the gardens — years of cultivation, of intention, of patient work — carry their own distinct reward. June is precisely the right month to see them.

05

A Conversation Without the Calendar Pressure

I will be at the Fairway Sanctuary for the full tour. If you have been curious about where the Newmarket market sits right now, this is an easy, pressure-free place to start that conversation.

Featured Homes Across Newmarket, Aurora, Sharon and Holland Landing

The self-guided format is one of the things that makes this tour work so well as an afternoon. There is no schedule to keep. You arrive, collect your map, and move through five completely distinct properties at whatever pace feels right.

The Fairway Sanctuary

Newmarket · Sponsored by New Doors Group. A fully renovated executive residence with deliberate transformation throughout — including a state-of-the-art home theatre.

Aurora, Sharon & Holland Landing

Four additional private properties across the region — each distinct in character, each representing a different dimension of what York Region residential life looks like at its finest.

The Boxed Lunch Option

For $65, add lunch and make a full afternoon of it. Worth the upgrade if you plan to take your time — and you should.

Come Be Inspired — I'll See You There

I have spent my entire life in this community. Born here. Raised my family here. Served on Council here. The things that make Newmarket and York Region extraordinary are not things I recite from a brochure — they are things I experience on the same streets my grandchildren now walk.

Events like the CFUW tour are part of what makes this more than a market. They are part of what makes it a community. An afternoon where neighbours open their homes, where gardens become conversation, where the price of admission goes directly toward someone else's future.

I will be at the Fairway Sanctuary from ten o'clock through to four. Come find me. And if you find yourself curious about anything beyond the tour — the market, your property, what this neighbourhood looks like right now — I am always glad to have that conversation quietly and without pressure.

"The right home does not simply change where you live. And the right community does not simply change what you see outside your window. Both change how you move through your days — and through your years. Newmarket does that. Come see why."
