Things To Do
At Cold Creek conservation you will find high ropes courses and rock climbing walls for the whole family.
Over at Spray Lake Watersports and Activity Centre the whole family can learn to waterski or wakeboard.
For the cyclists there are plenty of rolling hills and scenic roads which does include part of the Greenbelt Route.
King City offers recreation centres including the Tristan Centre in Schomberg where you can find an ice rink, gym, indoor track, curling sheets and much more.
Seneca College’s campus also offers an indoor pool, sports fields and a multi-use gymnasium.

Trails and Open Spaces
King is home to many trails including the Oak Ridges Moraine that spans more than 60km across the King Township. This particular trail is the source of many streams and rivers with access to forests, wetlands and beautiful open meadows.
Happy Valley Forest’s is an amazing place to explore a diversity of habitats, rare ferns, orchids and three different species of hawks.
Thornton Bales Conservation Area also known as 99 Steps is one of the most challenging trails that King has to offer. There is an elevation drop of 54 metres ensuring a tough workout with a stunning scenic view. You may even see some pileated woodpeckers and white tail deer.
The perfect place for bird watchers is over at the Cold Creek Conservation Area that spans 6.6 km of marked trails fil of bird boxes.
Shopping
Newmarket offers plenty of independent and unique retailers spread across the town
Upper Canada Mall located in the main Northwest corridor of Newmarket. It’s known as our premier shopping destination. The best shopping experience North of Toronto.
Wonderful culinary experiences as well with the newly added Market Co. where you will find tasty delights and a wonderful “meet up” experience.
Education
There are four Public Elementary schools serving King Township: in King City, Nobleton, Schomberg and Kettleby.
One Public Highschool is located in King City, King City Secondary School.
Three Catholic Elementary schools are available, but for those wanting a Catholic highschool they will need to travel to Aurora, Newmarket or Vaughn.
Many private schools are available including Country Day School, King’s Ridge Montessori School, St. Thomas of Villanova College and Montessori Country School serving age groups spanning toddler to teen.
King Township is home to a postsecondary institution, Seneca College.
Transportation
King City offers daily GO Train service offering residents transportation north to Barrie and south to Toronto.
York Region Transit allows residents to get around the city easily with many bus routes.
HWY 400 is easily accessible to everyone.
