Things To Do
Georgina hosts a SnoFest winter carnival, ice fishing competitions, Easter swim for an in-water egg hunt and of course all of the classics like Ribfest, Canada Day, and the Sutton fair. The fair even includes an amazing horse show.
During the fall you can spend time at the Family Fright Fiesta and Pool haunt, while looking forward to the end of the year with tree-lighting events and the Santa Claus parade.
Outside of community activities there are three libraries, the Eildon Hall Museum and the Georgina Arts Centre.
For a more history on Georgina you can head to the Georgina Pioneer Village and Archives for a day of historic fun. Right down the road is the Georgina Military Museum offering a glimpse into more of Georgina’s history.
Nearby id the Stephen Leacock Theatre in Keswick for anyone that prefers live performances.

Outdoor activities
Scenic waterfront offers a peaceful place to talk a walk, read a book or just relax by the water.
Krates Marina provides space to launch, dock and store your boat. There are many other marina’s along the 52-km shoreline northeast to Pefferlaw.
Georgina identifies as the “Ice Fishing Capital of North America” where they hold several competitions each season.
The Recreational Outdoor Campus (ROC) offers year-round fun for children and adults. You can go tubing or snowboarding at the park, tobogganing down the hills or go skating on the outdoor rink. During the summer months there are plenty of bike parks, rope courses, climbing walls and adventure programs for everyone to participate in.
There are also plenty of places for beach volleyball, outdoor basketball, soccer fields, tennis and even baseball. Throughout the entire community you can also find many playgrounds.
If hiking is more your style you can find an immense trail system taking you through all the nature that Georgina has to offer.
Georgina even has beaches and an abundant amount of places to go camping.
Shopping
The Georgian Mall is the largest enclosed shopping center in Barrie and the greater Simcoe County area, with over 150 premier retailers.
Education
Georgina has 12 public elementary schools – including one with French immersion – and the Waabgon Gamig First Nations school. There are two public secondary schools in Keswick and Sutton.
The Catholic Board offers two elementary schools (one with French immersion), and one high school.
It is important to note that many children do take the bus to school due to the location.
Transportation
Residents have access to HWY 404 which is a direct highway link in and out of Toronto.
York Region Transit provides the local transportation.
