Things To Do
The Town currently offers over 30 park locations, with 22 soccer pitches, 20 playgrounds, eight ball diamonds, four tennis courts, four splash pads, basketball courts, a mountain bike course and more.
If hockey and skating are more your preference, the East Gwillimbury Sports Complex has two rinks that offer ice time year-round. They even offer floor space for ball hockey and lacrosse.

Parks and Trails
East Gwillimbury offers an extensive trail system with Anchor Park, Holland River Trail, Rogers Reservoir and Simcoe Trail all part of the Nokiidaa network that connects to Newmarket and Aurora. You can travel through open grasslands, forests and wetlands, while visiting historic places like old mills, dams and canal locks all throughout the trails.
One of the most traveled trails is The Rogers Reservoir Trail, which follows the abandoned ‘Ghost Canal System’ of the early 1900s. This trail follows the route of the historic Metropolitan Radial Line that once brought visitors from Toronto to Lake Simcoe.
Sharon Hills, Peggy’s Wood, Princess, Shannon Park, and Vivian creek are more trails that will help you stay fit and connect you to many sports fields, parks and other natural areas throughout the community.
