Things To Do
The Aurora Seniors’ Centre offers no shortage of opportunities to get social and stay active for those who are 55 years and older. They offer a billiards table, reading room, computers, woodshop, outdoor bocce ball court and a deck overlooking the stunning Aurora Arboretum.
During the month of February you can take your family on an Arctic Adventure and as soon as springs comse you can hop on over to participate in the annual Easter Egg Hunt. The Home Show is a great activity every April and we can’t forget about the Street Festival in June with live music and over 500 vendors.
From May until the end of October the Outdoor Farmer’s Market and Artisan Fair is open with local produce and unique artisan products. During this time the market also offers weekly concerts and movies in Town park.
Be sure to visit Coconut Village Nails Spa for the BEST manicures, pedicures and facials.
Some classic activities that you don’t want to miss include Ribfest, Magna Hoedown, The Haunted Forest, and of course the Santa Under The Stars Parade followed by the annual tree-lighting.
At the Aurora Family Leisure Complex you can find a running track, fitness gym, squash courts and a youth centre. The complex even offers a skatepark for skateboarders and BMX bikes. You can also find more ramps, runs and transitions at Hickson Park.
If you are more the winter type you can find year-round public skating times at the Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex. During the winter months there are outdoor rinks located at several parks throughout the city.

- Joia Restaurant – Located on main street. This restaurant has a romantic patio overlooking the Riverwalk commons. Excellent date destination!
- Locale Aurora – Italian, Local Flavor
- Yunshang Rice Noodle – Best noodles around. We are regulars. The experience and the flavours are amazing!
- Thai Villa – The best pad Thai in the area! Hands down!

Green Spaces
Aurora has an abundance of greenspace for all to enjoy.
Staying fit is easy when you can go to Sheppard’s Bush and utilize the 14 exercise stations along the trails. If 14 is too much for you, head to Ada Johnson Park where there are only 4 exercise stations.

There’s plenty of big-box shopping here, with ample employment lands close to Hwy. 404, making Aurora a great place to live if you’d like to lower your commute time.
Education
Aurora offers 10 Public Elementary Schools and 5 Catholic Schools. There are 3 Public Schools and 1 Catholic School with French Immersion.
For secondary education there are 2 Public High Schools and 2 Catholic High Schools.
Fully Francophone education is also available in both elementary and secondary schools.
Aurora also offers private education for boys at St. Andrew’s College, which was founded in 1989 and has since become a town landmark.
Transportation
Travelling to, from and around Aurora is made easy with plenty of public transit options such as Go Transit helping all residents get to Downtown Toronto with ease. Aurora has quick access to HWY 404.
